Argon Law's private tour of the Sunshine Coast Art Prize exhibition 2022

On Thursday 13 October, Argon Law and special guests were treated to a Sunshine Coast Art Prize Exhibition private gallery tour with Caloundra Regional Gallery Curator and Director Jo Duke. During the tour, Jo spoke with our two local artists Cholena Hughes and Casey Hewitt. who were amongst the 40 contemporary 2D arts finalists.

The high calibre of these impressive 40 artworks that featured a range of genres including painting, drawing, photography, printing, textiles, and assemblage all brought a new perspective on what’s been happening in our world.

As major sponsor of this prestigious prize for the last four years, we have seen firsthand the positive impact that supporting this national award has had on our arts community. The major prize winner’s artwork (Kate Tucker | Carve time / print space) gets acquired by the Sunshine Coast art collection and it is a privilege to know that we have directly assisted in growing this collection, now in its 17th year.

We have also enjoyed sharing the stories of our local finalists with you and we wish them the best of luck in their arts career.

Congratulations once again to the team at the Caloundra Art Gallery and the Sunshine Coast Council for their tremendous job in making this another successful year.
