Argon Law Director, John Gallagher, has been appointed Company Secretary of SunCentral Maroochydore Pty Ltd (“SunCentral”).
SunCentral was established by the Sunshine Coast Regional Council in early 2015 to oversee the design and delivery of the Maroochydore City Centre Priority Development Area.
John is looking forward to assisting on matters of corporate governance and strategy and in achieving the objectives of developing a high density city centre with an identifiable city heart for the wider Sunshine Coast. He will be working closely with Chief Executive Officer John Knaggs and four independent board members, Mr. Morgan Parker (Chairman), Ms Alison Quinn, Mr. Paul McLean and Mr. Peter Sherrie.
“Working closely with the team at SunCentral, The Sunshine Coast Council and representatives of SunCentral’s development partners, Walker Corporation; achieving an appropriate balance between commercial and non-commercial functions underpinned with far reaching positive economic outcomes that will benefit the general community, represents an exciting and important long term ambition”, said John.
“Argon Law’s Maroochydore office looks out from northside of the CBD development. It has been exhilarating for me and my team to watch the 53-hectare greenfield site being transformed into a vibrant Central Business District that offers unparalleled opportunities for our thriving region.”
“As a proud and long-standing member of the Sunshine Coast Business community, I am now quite honoured to accept the role of Company Secretary and contribute in whatever way I can towards the successful delivery of a complex blueprint that is breaking new ground with its extensive use of technology to create a cleaner, greener, more liveable, dynamic city centre.“ John said.
