Sophie was admitted as solicitor in Queensland in 2001 after completing her articles with a local, well established Maroochydore firm.
In 2003 Sophie became the partner in that firm heading the commercial, property and wills & estates section. During that time, Sophie also completed a Certificate in
Dispute Resolution and left private practice in 2012 to become a part of Sunshine Coast Regional Council’s Legal Services Team. There she conducted Council’s commercial and property transactions, compulsory acquisitions as well as providing specialist legal advice in all issues a local government would encounter.
During her time with Council, Sophie was involved in providing advice on policy drafting, interpretation of local laws and environmental obligations. She assisted in the acquisition of land for the new Solar Farm and environmental reserves (Mary Cairncross Scenic Reserve and the Maroochy River Blue Heart Catchment), dealings with the new Maroochydore City Centre as well as the commercial leasing of sites and ultimate disposal of the Sunshine Coast Airport.
Sophie brings to Argon Law a strong background in commercial and property matters as well as an intricate knowledge of the obligations and requirements imposed upon local governments.
Sophie enjoys spending time on her five acres in the Noosa Hinterland where she has an organic fruit orchard, 3 dogs and 2 cats. When Sophie is not out in her garden, you will find her bushwalking or in the kitchen indulging in her love of baking.
Welcome Sophie to the Argon Family!
