Buderim 9’s “Visione” continues for another 5 years to help “get over it” it for cerebral palsy
Organisers of the Buderim 9 Challenge have reason to celebrate!
Now in its sixth year, the annual charity ride has secured another five-year partnership with Principal Sponsor, Sunshine Coast commercial law firm, Argon Law, to ensure the event’s continued growth and success.
Today, Argon Law celebrated their 5-year association with the Buderim 9 Challenge, raising funds for local charity, CPL, by renewing their relationship for another term.
“Argon Law is honoured to continue working with the Buderim 9 organisers and CPL to help raise awareness of the daily challenge faced by people living with cerebral palsy,” Director of Argon Law, John Gallagher said.
“In addition, funds raised by the ride go directly to children and families on the Sunshine Coast living with cerebral palsy providing useful equipment and meaningful experiences, such as iPads, safety aids and family days out.
“Argon Law is committed to giving back to the communities it serves on the Sunshine Coast, and we believe the expression “good corporate citizenship” must be tangible, meaningful and collaborative – and that’s exactly what the Buderim 9 Challenge is all about.
“The Buderim 9 Challenge is a fabulous example of individuals within our community and local businesses coming together for a common cause, a bit of fun and personal challenge.”
Sunshine Coast Cycling Club’s Greg Paix, event visionary and manager, is delighted with the event’s continued growth and success.
“This year the ride welcomes three new hill sponsors, including premium cycle store, Visione Cycles, which is opening its doors in Buderim today for the first time to launch the Buderim 9 Challenge 2017,” said Greg.
“Kunara Organic Marketplace, are our ride start and Hill 1 supporter, and Optomo first aid suppliers are now on Hill 3 and Visione Cycles take up the Hill 8 spot.
“In addition, 2017 has seen an increase in interest from a wide variety of new supporters – The Various Artists our new website designers and hosts, Metsure Insurance, Max Haulage, Infinit Nutrition Australia.
“Buderim 9 has more than 20 financial and in-kind supporters and I’d like to also acknowledge our valued long-time sponsors, without which the event could not happen:
“Argon Law, Harlequin Blinds and Security, Hall Contracting, Ray White Buderim, MacKellar Mining, Local Search Sunshine Coast, Wayward Slate, Mick's Meat Barn, Buderim Lions Club, NP Noltis Prime, Berni and Pete Burnett, Becker Helicopters, Fenwick’s Fruit Emporium, and media partner, My Weekly Preview.
“Every day, people living with cerebral palsy face their own, very difficult challenge. Participants in the Buderim 9 Challenge ride acknowledge this adversity by challenging themselves to tackle one, five or nine hills, up to 76kms, all within 3 hours.
“It’s tough! But they “get over it” all for a great cause.”
Manager of CPL’s Sunshine Coast service, Carmel Smith, said last year’s event saw 250 riders, nine hill sponsors and many amazing donations of goods, time, sweat and money!
“Last year raised more than $24,000 to support children and families on the Sunshine Coast with cerebral palsy,” Ms Smith said.
“We are so grateful for the efforts and generosity of all those who continue to help make this event such an extraordinary success.”
