Celebrating our creative community at the Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2022 Vernissage

Last Thursday the wonderful team at the Caloundra Regional Gallery hosted the Sunshine Coast Art Prize 2022 Vernissage. It was a fabulous night for Argon Law as the Principal Sponsor to celebrate our creative community and meet local artists who are part of the 40 finalist artworks on exhibition from now until October 16, 2022.

Sunshine Coast Art Portfolio and Deputy Mayor | Division 1 - Cr Rick Baberowski shared how the exhibition was intense and exciting. “The selected artworks are an honest and interesting reflection of our times,” Cr Baberowski said. “For me it’s the most complex representation of contemporary art we have attracted in recent years—it’s a mix I find inspiring and remarkably uplifting.

We encourage you to visit this outstanding contemporary 2D arts practice exhibition and vote now in the People's Choice Award for your favourite artwork.

We are proud to have two local artists Casey Hewitt and Cholena Hughes (finalist artworks below) amongst this outstanding group of finalists.

Sunshine Coast Art Prize Winners will be announced by this year’s guest judge Ellie Buttrose, Curator, Contemporary Australian Art, QAGOMA on October 6, 2022.
