About Rachel
Rachel Martin brings over 21 years of expertise in corporate, commercial, and financial services law to her role as Special Counsel at Argon Law. Her career includes nine years in private practice in Auckland and London, followed by 12 years in senior in-house counsel roles for both global and Australian corporates. Notably, Rachel served as Chief Legal and Compliance Officer for a financial services provider, overseeing legal operations across three countries, and as the lead commercial lawyer for the New Zealand subsidiaries of Woolworths Australia, where she developed a broad understanding of retail supply chains, logistics, and regulatory compliance.
Rachel’s in-depth experience extends to enhancing corporate governance and risk management within the financial services sector. She has acted as Privacy Officer for various companies, adeptly navigating privacy laws and regulations in Australia and New Zealand and facilitating training and data request responses.
Previously, as Senior Corporate Counsel for the NZ subsidiaries of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), Rachel worked closely with senior management and directors to ensure regulatory compliance for listed entities, including stock exchange announcements and Disclosure Statements.
Returning to private practice, Rachel is driven by her commitment to delivering exceptional service to a diverse client base, helping them navigate their business challenges and achieve success.
