Celebrating 21 Years of Contemporary Australian Art at the Argon Law Vernissage

Argon Law was delighted to once again sponsor the Argon Law Vernissage, the official opening event of the 2026 Sunshine Coast National Art Prize exhibition.

This year’s Vernissage was particularly special, marking 21 years of the Sunshine Coast National Art Prize, one of Australia’s most respected regional contemporary art awards. The event brought together artists, collectors, sponsors, community leaders and art enthusiasts to celebrate the launch of this year’s exhibition and recognise the outstanding talent showcased by the finalists.

As major sponsor for more than eight years, Argon Law is proud to support an initiative that has helped shape the Sunshine Coast’s cultural identity while providing a nationally recognised platform for contemporary Australian artists.

Held at Caloundra Regional Gallery, the exhibition features an exceptional collection of contemporary 2D and new media works from artists across Australia. Over the past two decades, the Prize has built a remarkable legacy, attracting high-calibre entries from across the country and cementing its reputation as the region’s leading contemporary art award.

For the Argon Law team, the Vernissage is always a highlight of the local events calendar. It provides an opportunity to celebrate creativity, connect with our community and acknowledge the significant contribution that artists and cultural organisations make to the Sunshine Coast.

The 2026 Sunshine Coast National Art Prize exhibition is open from 21 August to 11 October 2026, giving visitors the opportunity to experience an inspiring collection of contemporary Australian art and celebrate the Prize’s 21-year legacy.
