The University of the Sunshine Coast Gallery is the venue for the Regional Marks exhibition which celebrations the Print Council of Australia’s 50th birthday in 2016.
Proudly sponsored by Argon Law, Regional Marks: Celebrating 50 Years of Print is a six-week exhibition curated by Cathy Money which commenced on 19 May and runs until 2 July, showcasing innovative print making through traditional and contemporary methods.
USC Gallery manager, Ms Lou Jaeger, said it’s a coup for the Sunshine Coast to host this milestone event for the art of printmaking in Australia.
“The exhibition will feature works by established and emerging printmakers, from the Noosa, Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay Council regions including USC students,” said Ms. Jaeger.
“Included are all print forms, traditional through to digital on all printable surface mediums, including artist books and sculptural works.”
“The exhibition will also hold a series of supporting demonstrations and workshops conducted by printmakers as part of the public programs offered by the Gallery.”
John Gallagher of Argon Law said it’s important for business on the Sunshine Coast to support events and exhibitions such as Regional Marks.
“The exhibition brings together the talents of artists from right across our local and neighbouring regions, providing an opportunity for enhanced exposure to a broad audience,” John said.
Regional Marks is part of the national celebration of print scheduled throughout 2016 and is supported by The Regional Arts Development Fund – a partnership between the Queensland Government and Sunshine Coast Council to support local arts and culture in regional Queensland.
Regional Marks in association with the Print Council of Australia’s 2016 Year of Print, is proudly supported by the University of the Sunshine Coast and Argon Law.
